Play your old Playstation 1 games with this emulator.
The people that criticize this piece of software are being unfair. It is by no means perfect, but other emulators have their faults too. The criticisms within this review shouldn’t be taken as reasons not to use it because as emulators go, it is very good.
Download and use a clean copy
People like to embed emulators and downloadable software with viruses, so be on your guard for dirty copies of the software. You can test your machine to find out if the software will work on your device. If it does, then use the software to play your PSX games.
Does it work for downloaded games?
There are times when the emulator will work for downloaded games, but many times it will not. Usually, when a game is put online then it has been cracked and packaged by a programmer, and that raw material is often incompatible with this emulator unless it was built with this emulator in mind.
You may then ask why this emulator “sometimes” works with downloaded games. It works because somebody has expertly ripped all the files from the original gaming disk, which may fool the emulator into thinking it is playing a game on disk.
It works for Playstation 1 game disks
You put your disk into your computer after starting the emulator, then it will play the game as if you were using a Playstation one console. It even has an autoloader that will detect when you put in your disk and play it right away. This is good if you are getting through the disks and playing a few games within a short period of time.
Can you save your position?
Not being able to save your progress is often an issue when it comes to backwards compatibility. With this emulator, you gain access to a game’s virtual memory card system. This acts like a memory card where you can save your position/place, but it doesn’t work for every game. You may also transfer your data from one virtual memory card to another, which is a feature that few other PSX emulators have. It is also very easy to use when compared with other emulators.
